This project essentially created itself. I put this page together after Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, during which I had spent a lot of time thinking about what I hoped to accomplish in the coming year. Hearing about the tragic death of a young woman I knew solidified my desire to focus on the really important things in life. While resolutions come and go, putting them down in writing can help you stick to your goal! For this page, I wanted to create a simple structure that would keep the focus on the words. I chose a random photo of myself to accompany the resolutions, and framed the design elements with a large die-cut circle. The addition of a title, part of which I stamped and painted, and a simple bird rub-on completed the page.

There are a countless number of heroes that serve our county, but some heroes are more personal. Even one-year-olds can have a hero to save the day! My husband has been in the U.S. Navy for 11 years. As a military wife, I have endured many deployments. Thankfully, however, our now three year old daughter has not had to suffer through very many. The photos on this layout were taken the day my husband came home from the first deployment of which he had to be separated from our daughter who was one year old at the time. We were worried as to how she would deal with being reunited, but we shouldn’t have. The moment she saw her daddy again she jumped into his arms and was overjoyed with smiles and giggles. I got some great shots of her getting bounced in the air as they jumped for joy together!
