I love 'year in review' layouts. However, I like to add a different twist to them rather than doing your typical 12 month calendar year in review. In this layout I was inspired by the Calendars Made Easy papers by Scrappin' Sports & More. I created a seasonal year in review and used photos taken of my son during the four different seasons of the year!

Instructions:

1. Use white cardstock as the background for your layout.

2. Cut Calendars Made Easy Papers (January, May, August, November) into 1½” - 2” strips; distress the edges using edge scraper. Gently ink the edges, then attach to cardstock.

3. Using a sewing machine, stitch around the edge of the strips of patterned paper.

4. Print four 3x4 photos, sand the edges with file set then attach to layout.

5. Using Storytellers stickers, spell out "winter,” "spring," "summer" and "fall."

6. Using Glitter Alphabet Expressions, spell out "4 Seasons U;" handwrite ”of.”

7. Using die cuts and punches for each season (snowflake, butterfly, leaves and twigs), create an embellishment tag and attach to layout.

8. Add heart pin to embellishment cluster.

My name is Carolyn Lontin. I am married to Rick; we have one son, Seth, and two crazy dogs! We live in gorgeous Colorado, in a suburb just south of Denver. Since 1994, I have been a Human Resource Director for a manufacturing company. I began scrapping in October 2001, to preserve my son's childhood memories and it quickly became an obsession! I love capturing my family's "real" moments in both my photos and my journaling. I have found the creative outlet of scrapping to be incredibly relaxing and quite addictive, which is shocking to the previously dominate non-artistic side of me! Over the past few years, I have had the honor of having my work published in several major publications. Drop by my blog for a visit: http://carolynlontin.blogspot.com.
