As a part of my family scrapbooking, I still scrap my kids’ childhood photos. This photo of my daughter, Nitzan, when she was about 5-6 years old, is one of those pages. She is 25 now, in her final year as a college student, and a real beauty. In those days, however, she had this most ridiculous haircut and no front teeth. Nevertheless, she was a performer and danced whenever she could. And today, she is still dancing whenever she can...

Adhesives

Rock On Babe!

Intermediate Project

By: Dr. Irit Shalom

Supplies:
  • Adhesives: E-Z Runner, 3D Foam Squares (Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L)
  • Alphabet/Letters: Daiquiri White Foam Thickers (American Crafts)
  • Cardstock: Rock Star Glitter cardstock line - RS001, RS002, RS003 (Best Creation)
  • Chipboard: Expressions Chipboard (Best Creation)
  • Embellishments: music brads (Eyelet Outlet)
  • Patterned paper: Glitter 6”x 6'' paper pad (Best Creation)
  • Ribbon: orange (Paper Studio)
  • Stickers: Glitter Element stickers, Combo stickers (Best Creation)
Instructions:

1. Use the backside of RS003 as your base cardstock. Make an orange and black sentiments papers mat from 6”x 6” glitter pad, and use a frame from the shaped paper from the same pad as your photo matting. Adhere them as shown, under and over the photo. Hand cut guitar and music notes from RS001 cardstock and glue them on the lower edge of your layout as shown.

2. Make a title and cluster your stickers and embellishments to achieve a messy, random look. This page is all about “the more, the better." Add some music note brads over the music note cutouts.

3. Make an orange glitter circle and use it for your hidden journaling. Add letters to spell PULL from the sticker set and a small ribbon piece to pull it. Write your journaling on the backside of the circle. My journaling was written in Hebrew about my rock star girl.

4. Make a ribbon bow and add it over the guitar as shown with a small round sticker on top. Don't worry about trying to make your page exactly like this one; you can alter the embellishment clusters as much as you like.

My name is Irit and I am an Israeli scrapper and crafter. In my real life I am a working dentist, a wife, mom of 4 and a very new grandma of one baby boy. I scrapped here and there for a few years, but I have done it seriously for the last three years. During this time I’ve made huge progress. I have been a Design Team member on more than a dozen challenge blogs, and a guest designer on a dozen more. Currently I design for Robin's Nest, Pretty Little Studio, Tando Creative, A2Z Scraplets, Inspiring By Stamping, Creative Imaginations Paint and Epiphany Crafts. I mostly scrap, but I also love altered art and card making. My style is shabby/vintage, but sometimes I try to change it a bit to a clean and simple style. You are most welcome to visit my blog and my Facebook page too, and add me as your friend. See you there! http://iritshalom.blogspot.com/
